Because Home Matters

Cheryl DeMeyers was raised in Williamson, NY. Her husband, Richard, grew up in the nearby town of Sodus. Both ended up finding their first jobs in Newark, where they've been living for the last 50 years. And in that time, they have grown increasingly proud to have Newark-Wayne Community Hospital as a part of their home.

The Eastern Region couple is among the most dedicated of the hospital's advocates. Cheryl has been especially involved, serving on the Auxiliary Board for 15 years. She also does additional volunteer work at the DeMay Living Center. "Richard and I feel that it is very important to have the hospital in the community," Cheryl says. "Not only for the jobs that it brings, but also because it's important to be able to get the best healthcare possible locally."

Cheryl and Richard are now looking out for the next generation of people who call Newark home by including the hospital in their estate plans.

"Everyone needs access to healthcare and we are fortunate to have such a great hospital," she says "A planned gift is a very easy way to support the hospital and make it a better resource for grandchildren, great grandchildren and beyond."
